What is a hydrodermabrasion?

Human skin can be divided into three layers from the outside to the inside: epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissue. Generally speaking, the skin care products we use can only stay on the epidermis and cannot penetrate into the dermis. The professional name for mesotherapy is "mesoderm therapy", which involves injecting necessary nutrients directly into the dermis layer just below the epidermis. This allows the skin to absorb and store up to 1000 times its own weight in water, awakening cell regeneration, repairing damaged cells, and quickly reshaping the skin, making it firm, smooth, and elastic.

Basic efficacy of hydrodermabrasion

  • Moisturizing and hydrating: 1 milliliter of hyaluronic acid can lock in 1 liter of water. The hydrodermabrasion injects hyaluronic acid deep into the skin to replenish it, leaving the skin hydrated and radiant.

  • Improve skin tone: It can accelerate skin metabolism, quickly expel melanin, improve dull and dry skin conditions, and make the skin appear brighter and more radiant.

  • Pore shrinking: By stimulating skin metabolism through mesotherapy, it helps to shrink and refine pores, leaving the skin firmer and smoother.

  • Reduce wrinkles: 1 gram of hyaluronic acid can make sunken and sagging skin plump, smooth out fine lines, and firm up the skin.

precautions

  • Within 30 minutes after injection, apply ice to the treated area to alleviate mild redness and swelling.

  • Avoid contact with water for 12 hours after treatment, and you can use sterile medical facial masks to reduce swelling.

  • Wash your face gently in the first 3 days after surgery, and avoid rubbing it hard.

  • Avoid high-temperature environments such as sauna and hot springs for a week.

  • Avoid drinking alcohol, smoking, and consuming spicy foods.

  • The 2-7 days after surgery are the critical repair period, during which medical repair masks (not for home use) and medical repair products should be used at least once a day.

  • Pay attention to sun protection, use sunscreen, bring an umbrella when going out, and avoid going out during the noon period in summer.

Taboo population

  • Individuals with sun exposure: Those who have recently suffered from sunburn are prone to redness and peeling. During the active phase of melanin production and inflammation, they must wait until their skin condition stabilizes before undergoing hydrodermabrasion treatment.

  • Patients with active chloasma: Chloasma has active, stable, and quiescent phases. If the pigmentation is in an active and aggravating phase, undergoing hydrodermabrasion treatment may trigger reactions similar to those of microdermabrasion treatment.

  • Individuals currently taking certain anticoagulant medications: especially those taking aspirin or simvastatin, it is essential to understand the patient's medication history prior to surgery.

  • Patients with active acne: Performing hydrodermabrasion injections during acne outbreaks or papular inflammation may induce acne-like rashes. It is recommended that patients undergo non-invasive phototherapy for disinfection.

  • Patients with skin inflammation: For individuals with skin sensitivities such as contact dermatitis, cosmetic dermatitis, eczema, rosacea, or exacerbated steroid-dependent dermatitis, undergoing hydrodermabrasion treatment may further increase skin sensitivity.
